Tuned Up Taste? Yuck!

A new Diet Mountain Dew has appeared in Wisconsin.

I popped my morning can from a new 24-pack and thought there was something seriously wrong... then I noticed the
"Tuned Up Taste" logo on the can. Does not taste good to my trained tongue. Had to google to see what's happened.

The ingredients do show aspartame earlier in the list than sucralose, but there are lots of other changes.

Old can: Carbonated water, concentrated orange juice, citric acid, aspartame, potassium benzoate, citrus pectin, potassium citrate,
caffeine, gum arabic, natural flavors, brominated vegetable oil, yellow 5 and erythorbic acid.

New can: Carbonated water, concentrated orange juice, citric acid, natural flavors, citrus pectin, potassium benzoate, aspartame, potassium citrate, caffeine, sodium citrate, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, gum arabic, sodium benzoate, calcium disodium EDTA, brominated vegetable oil, yellow 5.

It tastes more watery to me. A bit more lemon-y, less orange-y. Why do they do this to me?
